AFTER AN INJURY

Care Built Around Your Injury, Not a Generic Protocol

Personal injury cases vary a lot — a low-speed fender bender and a highway collision can produce very different injuries. We start with a hands-on exam and your history of the incident, then build a plan around what we actually find. Dr. Miller’s training in neuroradiology and MRI means she can review your imaging directly rather than waiting on an outside read, which helps get your plan started sooner.

Throughout treatment, we document findings and progress, which matters both for your recovery and for any insurance or legal claim tied to the injury.

Understanding Your Injury

Soft tissue injuries — strains, sprains, and whiplash — are the most common finding after a collision, and they can happen even in a low-speed impact. The rapid back-and-forth motion of a crash can stress the neck and back well beyond what the vehicle damage might suggest. It’s also common for symptoms to build over the first 24–72 hours rather than show up immediately, which is why we recommend an evaluation soon after an accident even if you feel okay at the scene.

Your first visit includes a hands-on exam — range-of-motion testing, orthopedic and neurological screening, and palpation — along with a detailed history of how the accident happened. When imaging is warranted, Dr. Miller’s training lets her read it directly and correlate findings to the mechanism and timing of the accident, rather than treating imaging as a separate step handled by someone else.

From there, care typically moves through phases: an early phase focused on reducing pain and inflammation and restoring gentle movement, followed by a phase aimed at rebuilding range of motion and function as you improve. We reassess at each visit rather than committing to a fixed number of sessions up front, and we’ll refer you to an orthopedist, physical therapist, or other specialist if your case calls for care beyond what chiropractic treatment addresses.

BUILT FOR PERSONAL INJURY CASES

Documentation That Holds Up

Trauma & Expert-Witness Qualified

Dr. Miller is trauma-qualified and expert-witness certified, with documentation built for insurance adjusters and attorneys, not just a routine chart note.

Direct Imaging Review

A mini-fellowship in neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, and extremity MRI lets her read your imaging herself and triage findings without waiting on an outside radiologist.

Published Clinical Case Work

Her published case work covers injury causation and age-dating trauma-related findings — see Publications & Resources.

If you’re working with an attorney, we can also treat on a lien basis — see our lien-based treatment page. Illinois law generally allows two years to bring a personal injury claim (735 ILCS 5/13-202), with a shorter one-year window for certain claims against government bodies — this isn’t legal advice, so talk to an attorney about your specific situation.
