CONDITIONS WE TREAT
TMJ Disorder Treatment
Chiropractic care as part of a broader approach to jaw pain and TMJ symptoms.

A CONNECTED SYSTEM
The Jaw and Neck Are Closely Linked
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) symptoms — jaw pain, clicking, and tension — are often connected to posture and neck alignment. Chiropractic care won’t replace treatment from a dentist or TMJ specialist, but it can be a useful part of a broader approach.
We evaluate your neck and posture alongside your TMJ symptoms to see whether that connection applies to you.
Why the Jaw and Neck Are Related
The jaw, neck, and upper back share muscles and nerve pathways, and forward head posture — common with desk work and phone use — changes the resting position and load on the jaw joint. Muscle tension in the neck and shoulders can also refer pain toward the jaw and temples, which is part of why TMJ symptoms and neck or headache symptoms so often show up together.
A chiropractic evaluation looks at cervical joint restriction, posture, and muscle tension patterns that may be contributing to or aggravating your jaw symptoms. We don’t diagnose or treat the joint itself — that’s squarely within a dentist or TMJ specialist’s scope — but addressing the neck and postural piece can be a useful part of a broader plan alongside their care, particularly when neck or headache symptoms are part of what you’re dealing with.
