CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Neck Injury Treatment
Evaluation and treatment for neck pain and stiffness from injury.

BEYOND WHIPLASH
Neck Injuries Have More Than One Cause
Not every neck injury comes from a car accident — falls, sports, repetitive strain, and awkward sleeping positions can all lead to neck pain and stiffness. (If your neck pain followed a collision, our whiplash treatment page covers that specifically.)
We evaluate the cause before recommending care, since a strained muscle and a joint restriction respond to different approaches.
Common Patterns We See
Mechanical neck pain — from a joint that’s not moving well or muscles that are overworked and tight — is one of the most common patterns, often tied to posture, desk setup, or how you sleep. Degenerative changes that build up gradually over years, sports-related strain, and lingering effects from an old injury are other common contributors. Each responds differently to care, so we don’t treat every stiff neck the same way.
Most neck pain responds well to conservative care, but a few signs call for medical evaluation first — numbness or weakness spreading down an arm, severe pain following significant trauma, or symptoms that don’t fit a typical mechanical pattern. We’ll flag that during your exam and refer you out if that’s what your case needs, rather than treating through it.
